Located in Board of Education District 2 and KCS Region 2, West Haven Elementary School is dedicated to a safe, positive learning environment where we are passionate about success for all students.

Opening in 1958 as a county school for grades 1 - 8, West Haven proudly holds over six decades of rich educational history supporting our community and now serves Pre-K - 5th Grade.

Principal

Ms. Jessica Holman

Ms. Holman is originally from Memphis, TN but has called Knoxville home for over 25 years. Ms. Holman earned her BS, MS, and EdS degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She began her teaching career in 2003 as a 3rd grade teacher at Dogwood Elementary School in Knox County, and taught 3rd grade from 2003- 2011. Ms. Holman worked as an assistant principal with KCS between 2011- 2013, serving at Karns Elementary School and Christenberry Elementary School. She has been an executive principal with Knox County Schools since 2013 and was a graduate of the 2nd cohort of the UT/Knox County Schools Leadership Academy principal preparation program. Ms. Holman has served as executive principal at Inskip Elementary from 2013- 2017 and Green Magnet Academy from 2017-2026 prior to serving as the principal at West Haven Elementary. In 2018, Ms. Holman studied at Harvard University as part of the National Urban School Leaders Summer Institute.

Assistant Principal

Dr. Sarah Beth Crabtree

Dr. Sarah Beth Crabtree is an experienced educator and leader with a strong background in both teaching and administration. She began her career in education as a classroom teacher at Amherst Elementary, where she cultivated a passion for student growth and instructional excellence. In 2023, she transitioned into school administration, serving at South Doyle High School until 2025.

Dr. Crabtree holds a Ph.D. in Leadership and School Culture, an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Principal Leadership, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Bachelor’s degree in K–8 Content. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to fostering positive school environments and empowering both students and staff.

She is excited to continue serving the West Haven Elementary community, bringing her expertise, energy, and heart to every aspect of school life.
