Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime West Haven Wildcat family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.
This is a central hub for students and families to easily access information for navigating the school and school day, including enrollment, student handbooks, information about schedules, extra curricular activities, and more!
Enrollment
West Haven Elementary serves students in grades K - 5th.
Students who are zoned for West Haven are automatically enrolled.
Enrollment for students who are new to the districts must be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian. There is a Blended Pre-K program with an additional application.
Daily Schedule
At West Haven, the school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. on regular school days. Please pick up early dismissing students before 2:30pm. You must have your identification.
Breakfast begins at 7:05am and ends at 7:45am
On Half Days, Grades K-5 dismiss at 11:15am; (PreK dismisses at 10:15am.) NO LUNCHES SERVED ON HALF DAYS
Students must attend for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.
After School Care
West Haven Rec Center is the closest on-site provider, but several organizations offer pickup and transportation to off-site programs.
Extracurricular Activities
Learning doesn't stop when the school day ends. West Haven offers several after school and extracurricular opportunities. Through these clubs and others, students have the opportunity to expand their classroom learning, get to know peers with similar interests, and explore new skills.
Student Supports
The entire staff of West Haven Elementary School is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which children will feel safe, secure, and happy so they maximize their opportunities to learn and achieve. The school has trained counselors on staff.
Library / Media Center
Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. In addition to the school library, teachers may maintain individual collections of age-appropriate books in their classrooms to support literacy and foster a love of reading.
Parent Teacher Organization
West Haven is supported by a strong network of parent and community organizations through the West Haven PTO, a group dedicated to raising funds to strengthen academics, the community, and the arts.
